To begin with, the thread is a marine grade quality that stands up to the rigors of fresh and salt water environments. YKK zippers of nylon are used to avoid the corrosion problems that occur with metal zippers. The handles consist of 2" nylon webbing and support the bottom of the bag. And everything is double stitched. The main material of the bag is a PVC coated mesh that allows the water to drain and helps reduce the mildew environment.
